Art Quilts – my old  thing

Weaving – my new thing

Color, color, color. This is the passion  that has carried  me through my life as a  fiber artist. Add to that  a love of  texture  and  the spontaneous creation of design and  I find  continuity from the sewing of wall hangings  to the weaving of beautiful fabric  and production of one of a kind clothing.

The  garments  that I  design and weave use multiple fiber types and  colors for both warps and weaving off.  I am using simple tabby or  twill structure but by interlacing multiple shuttles in  each pick,  I am able to create rich textures and subtle color interactions. Some of my  garments show the influence of Saori weaving.  I form clothing with the barest minimum of cutting  of  the fabric. My shirts and coats and vests drape  so  as to flatter  many body shapes and sizes.
